Claiming an artist
Link your account to the artist profile that represents you.
Claiming an artist links your Diskograf account to the artist profile that represents you. You can claim an existing profile or create a new one.
Only claim yourself or a group you represent. Do not claim another person's name.
Link your artist profile
- Sign in to Diskograf.
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Choose Edit profile. A new account may show Complete profile instead.
- Find the Linked artist section.
- Under How will you use Diskograf?, choose Artist.
- Search for your artist or stage name.
- Select the existing artist profile, or choose Create “name” as a new artist when no matching profile exists.
- Type the artist name exactly as shown. Then click Yes, this is me or Yes, create it.
- Click Save profile.
The confirmation text must match the artist name. One account can link to one artist record.
Check the name before you save
Linking an artist is a public identity choice. The profile form does not offer an undo option after the link is saved.
Claim a song credit
To add your work to an existing song:
- Open the song page while signed in.
- Scroll to Contributors.
- Click Claim credit.
- Select every role that you performed on the song.
- Confirm that the information is accurate.
- Click Claim credits.
You must link your account to an artist before you can claim a song credit. If you do not see Claim credit, finish the profile steps above first.
What the link gives you
Your linked artist profile can show a verified artist mark, your published works, your credits, your public biography and your social links.
Creating a new artist profile creates the artist record and links it to your account in the same save.
Never claim another person
The confirmation is an identity statement. If the artist profile is wrong, choose No, go back and ask for a correction instead.
An artist who has not been claimed still has a public catalogue page. Its published songs and credits remain readable. The page does not yet have a linked username or verified artist profile.
